Howdy,
My name is Jeff Russell, and I found my way here through one of John Michael Greer's weekly "Magic Monday" posts on his dreamwidth journal, ecosophia.dreamwidth.org. I'm very interested in and excited about the Golden Section Fellowship books, oracle, and work, but unfortunately, I have not done more than read along so far, and that may stay the case a while, as I leapt into some closely related, but distinct, work right before Way of the Golden Section was published. The work I'm doing is from JMG's Druidry Handbook, Druid Magic Handbook, and The Dolmen Arch, and lately with the work from the Modern Order of Essenes added in. If I were starting from scratch today, I would likely begin with WotGS, as it integrates with all of the above just fine and has a fairly short initial course of study, but right now, I'm smack in the middle of some other work that prayer and divination suggest I ought to see through before adding something new. That being said, I have hopes that I might be able to start learning the Sacred Geometry oracle once I finish scrying each Few of the Ogham (I could technically start sooner, but I like have the daily reinforcement of doing a reading), which could be as soon as later this year, so I may be seeking some guidance from those of y'all who have gotten an earlier start.
(Brief aside: in trying to put together/choose between/sequence different occult courses of study, what I'm finding is that the main bottleneck usually seems to be the course of meditation, especially if the daily ritual work is compatible.)
At any rate, I wanted to keep at least a toe in the water and encourage anyone else here in their work, so feel free to say hello.
Cheers,
Jeff
P.S. Not sure if the etiquette has been established yet, but is it better to start a new thread with my intro, or to reply to a single "introductions" thread? No offense taken if this gets taken down or moved.
